Above is an image of the starter project given to the foundation art students at MMU. The computer screen contains information all about my interests and favourite artists that have inspired the majority of my work such as Paul Kenton, Neil Dawson and Bob Barker. The computer is made out of Canvas as whilst creating testers to obtain my chosen material, I found that when working with cotton the paints and transfers ran creating a messy finish. I also tested materials such as tin, card, paper and carving into polystyrene foam. For the self portrait I cut out the apple logo and machine sewn an outline of myself onto the canvas with wadding behind to create a 3D texture.
The computer screen was sewn together to allow polystyrene foam to fit inside the material to keep the final piece upright and firm.
